I started trimming this horse about a year and so ago. He had a huge toe crack that ran half way up his wall. He is super flexible and used to love to make me work hard in order to hold onto his feet. I would be holding onto a front foot, and be standing next to his hind end as he stretched to get his foot away. He would dance and wiggle all over the place. It would take about an hour or more to get him trimmed, because he just wouldn't hold still. Over the course of a year, consistent trims every 6 weeks, and a lot of great work from his owner; he now stands really well, and the crack is all gone! He is still a goofball, and is even more flexible, but he is much more respectful, and responsive to myself and his owner. Many Farriers wouldn't keep him on as a client, because of his lack manners, but I knew given the right guidance, time, and patience, that he would get better, and he did!
The Picture is of his Front Left foot, after 3 trims (18 weeks after initial trim) You are all amazing! We have all shared so many great memories together! Please feel free to share them here.
